The device like the new Samsung Galaxy Gio has supported the Android to gain good position in a small period of time. This is a very good phone with a good reasonable price. This phone works on an Android 2.2.1 Froyo operating system and is powered by a powerful 800 MHz processor. It works on 2G network-GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and 3G network-HSDPA 900/2100. This phone was launched in January and is available from March. This handset brings you with good number of features.
Design:
The phone has an excellent design and is entirely made of plastic. It shows nicely tapered edges. The phone has a sleek look that makes you feel the phone to be slimmer and comfortable. It has a dimension of 110.5 mm in length, 57.5 mm in width and 12.2 mm in thickness. The surface has a glossy finish. Comparatively the Galaxy Gio S5600 is lighter and compact than the Galaxy Ace. There is a typical set of keys in the bottom below the display, the Home key button in the center with an elegant finish along with menu and back buttons.

The Gio features a good display, 3.2 inches TFT capacitive touch screen display with 16M colors. It is having 320×480 pixel resolution. The display features an accelerometer sensor for the User Interface auto-rotate. It also includes TouchWiz v3.0 user interface and a proximity sensor for the auto turn off. It display is having a bright contrast with vivid colors. The display is clearly legible even in Sunlight. The Galaxy Gio comes with a 3.15 MP Camera with a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. It features an auto focus feature with Geo tagging and smile detection. You can record QVGA at 15 frames per second. The stills and videos shot by this camera had a very good clarity.
Features
The Samsung Galaxy Gio S5660 works on an Android operating system that supports good features on this handset. It also provides you with access to all Android apps available in the Android Market. The phone provides with high speed internet access. It features a HTML browser. It features a Stereo FM Radio with RDS. The Galaxy Gio comes with good number of preloaded games and many other games can be downloaded via internet. It also features navigation feature like GPS along with A-GPS support. It supports Java via Java MIDP Emulator.
Other features like Digital compass and SNS integration is available with this handset. The phone features an Organizer, Image or Video Editor and ThinkFree document viewer. It also features internet apps like Google search, Google Maps and GMail. It also features apps like YouTube, G-Talk, Calendar and Picasa integration. The phone features business apps a voice memo. The phone provides with good message support like SMS and you can have all messages in threaded format, MMS, IM, Email and Push Email. Predictive text input (Swype) is also supported in this handset. Sound alert types such as Vibration, WAV and MP3 ringtones are available in Galaxy Gio. It also features a loudspeaker and sports a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Samsung Galaxy Gio S5660 supports good connectivity features. It features GPRS and EDGE. It supports 3G with HSDPA 7.2 Mbps. The phone has good WLAN support with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Wi-Fi hot spot. It also features a Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and microUSB(v2.0) port. Regarding the memory the phone contains a internal memory of 158 MB and the memory is expandable up to 32 GB using the microSD card and comes with additional 2 GB memory card. The Galaxy Gio features a phonebook that can store practically unlimited call entries, fields and photo calls. The phone can even store unlimited call records.
Performance
The call quality is good as the callers at either end expressed their satisfaction regarding the voice clarity. Except the minor disturbances the overall conversation was good. This handset works on an 800 MHz processor that provides with better performance, but any this with 1GHz was good. Other than this the overall performance of this handset is good.
