Yesterday was no ordinary Tuesday. It was Microsoft’s eleventh Patch Tuesday of 2011. In keeping with Microsoft’s practice of releasing a lower volume of patches during odd-numbered months as compared to even ones, this month’s Patch Tuesday only contains four security bulletins, which is half of what the company shipped in October.
Microsoft’s latest batch of patches contains two “important”, one “moderate” and one “critical” update. However, it does not contain any patch for the Kernel vulnerability being exploited by the Duqu computer virus. A few days back, th

Today Motorola announced their MotoCast service which they tout as a personal cloud. Instead of storing your music, photos, and videos on a server somewhere, you connect your phone to a computer (or many) and stream content directly from there. No intermediary sync necessary.
You can debate whether this is as useful as cloud storage, but theres one aspect to this service that makes it highly desirable: streaming video in almost every popular format from your computer to the phone without the need to transcode.
Setting up MotoCast seems easy enough. The first time users plug the RAZR into their computer, one partition of the disk will register as a CD with a setup file on it.

In (rman) incrementally updated backups, only incremental backups are done after the first full backup to the Fast Recovery Area. From 11gR2 on the incremental backup pieces will get the same tag as the datafile copies, and that’s actually different behaviour from pre- 11gR2 versions of the database.
I stumbled on this different behaviour when a backup script, that worked perfectly on 11gR2, got ported to 10gR2 and 11gR1 ( 11.1.7 ). The script contains a system cleanup of all incrementals, done before a certain date, specifying the tag of the copy [ 'COPY_DATABASE' ]. O
