SecuGen Corp., a provider of optical fingerprint technology based in Silicon Valley, Calif., recently announced that it has filed counterclaims against Korean biometric company Suprema Inc. for fraud, breach of contract, and negligent misrepresentation. These claims were filed along with an answer to a complaint by Suprema in the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of California regarding SecuGen’s termination of an OEM Agreement between the two companies.
The OEM Agreement from which these claims arise was entered into between the companies in 2009, whereby Suprema agreed to purchase SecuGen’s fingerprint sensors, design them into its products, and promote the bundled product, as opposed to using infringing sensors.

With diseases such as Foot and Mouth, TB, and of course Mad Cow still presenting a danger to cattle, it’s of the utmost importance that farmers monitor the health of their animals, and immediately proceed to isolate any that might be showing symptoms. If you have a herd of over 500 cows, however, keeping track of individuals can be rather tricky. That’s why scientists at England’s Newcastle University have developed electronic ears tags, that they’re trying out on a herd of test cattle.
Each ear tag is equipped with an RFID (radio frequency identification) chip, that transmits a short-range signal. Read more…

Samsung released a streamlined version of the SAMSUNG GALAXY Z i9103 smart phone, it is the downgrade style of SAMSUNG GALAXY S II i9100. There is news said that this device will be releases in UK soon. Of course, it is equipped with a lot of excellent features. For the appearance, it has a 4.2 inch touch screen of 800 x 480 resolution. But the display is made of Super Clear LCD material, which is different with the Super AMOLED Plus of GALAXY S II i9100.

Game developer David Braben caused geeks to get excited back in May when he announced plans to develop and release a $25 PC. It is called the Raspberry Pi, and takes the form of a USB stick that can be plugged into the HDMI port of a display ready to act as afully-functional PC.
The thinking behind the super-cheap PC is to get it into the hands of school kids and let them start experimenting and programming. The planend hardware included a 700MHz ARM11 processor, 128MB RAM, OpenGL ES 2.0, and 1080p output.

There are plenty of things that I acknowledge as a good idea and a work of art but have outlived its usefulness after the first time. For example, I own a DVD of Schindler’s List, a critically acclaimed and moving film about the Holocaust, but I would never ever in a million years sit down in front of the TV and watch it again. It’s not exactly the type of movie that will strike your mood, no matter how depressed you are.
